The History of Samantha Wordie Photography.

I founded this photography company in 2007 after a major life re-think due to my uncles passing from Cancer.

I originally studied Photography in London College of Fashion. After dabbling in the fashion industry going through various internships with Bliss, Heat and New Woman Magazine’s fashion departments I decided it was too much effort and went back to working in Human Resources. A year or 2 later my uncle John was given 3 months to live at the tender age of 39. He sat me down with my cousin Blake and basically told us off for not following our dreams and making the most of life. The next day I quite my job and started on the journey of self employed. Possibly not the best sequence but it worked!

I have spent the past 3 years building my business Samantha Wordie Photography (www.wordiephotography.com) and exploring the various aspects of photography whilst always trying to expand and push myself to the next level. I have worked on commercial and portrait and wedding photography all across West Sussex, Surrey and Central London.

In order to give more attention to the wedding photography side of things I took on a business partner to do those weddings with me…. In comes Sarah and together we launched Darcy Wedding Photography (www.darcyweddingphotography.com) and so far it has been a fantastic success.

I can honestly say I love my job and I am so grateful for every day that brings me a new challenge and I enjoy meeting new people and taking on new adventures.
